Anvil blades have a single sharp blade that meet the metal surface of the anvil. These are used when cleanliness is not as important as the removal of the dead material from your plants.
The anvil blade will cut and crush the branch, while a bypass blade would be used for the fast-healing health of the plant.
This Pruner from WOLF-Garten replaces the RSM Anvil Pruner which has been discontinued.
